Here’s a quick rundown seeing as you’re here…

After Matt attained an Honours degree in Screenwriting from the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), he worked for four years as a development executive in film and television for Every Cloud Productions. He mostly helped plot murder mysteries, which included a lot of suspicious googling and likely landed him on some kind of AFP watch list.

Matt now teaches screenwriting at the VCA and runs writing programs at Story Studios Australia in Carlton.

He is also a children’s author with one picture book out now, a chapter book on the way in 2026, and no further ideas at this stage but he’s not panicking about that at all so can everybody just please chill please.

Matt is also trying to sharpen his story craft and movie watching skills via his very silly podcast Tripod, and on Sunday’s when he watches animated films with his nieces.
